Yeshivat Ä¢¹½TVÏÂÔØ came together last week to commemorate Yom Hazikaron, with a moving tekes honoring and mourning our brothers and sisters who died defending the State of Israel or were murdered in acts of terror. The student-led program featured the personal stories, photos and letters of fallen soldiers, as well as a guest speaker, Dor Ben-David, who shared his experiences serving in an elite combat unit and later working closely with former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Then, mourning gave way to joy as Ä¢¹½TVÏÂÔØ celebrated 74 years of the State of Israel! Round robin skits, exhilarating dancing and Ä¢¹½TVÏÂÔØ’s annual FPA Yom Ha’atzmaut BBQ on the Great Lawn made for a fantastic celebration indeed! We will never take for granted how fortunate we are to live in an age with a sovereign Jewish state, nor the sacrifices that have made possible the existence and security of Medinat Israel.
